Since the days of Zork, folks have been immersing themselves in to interactive, digital worlds. As folks started coming together first on BBS’, online networks, and finally the internet itself, people have joined each other in these digital wonderlands of the imagination. But even as colossal, multi-user games continue to attract players with ever impressive, movie-like graphics, the simple text-based environs still flourish.
While it can take many forms, as individuals or as a collaborative group, the easy availability of message forums, blogs, and other tools that allow just about anyone to stake a claim to their own piece of digital real estate, and creative writing continues to grow.
The Writer’s Lab is geared towards providing tips and resources for the creative writer, with a focus on those who do collaborative writing in a free form role-play environment. We go beyond the basics of grammar and writing basics to include entire ‘world building’ information to give the backdrop for your character creations.
