Something Wicked This Way Comes…
Both creative writing and free form role-playing can get a bit boring without some sort of conflict. And in most cases, to have conflict you need a ‘good guy’, and a ‘bad guy’. Writing for or playing a bad guy though is not always as easy at it would first seem.
Jerry Stratton wrote an enlightening article that puts the spotlight on evil. The main thrust of the article is how to apply it to their own gaming site, but the information presented is more than solid enough to help any creative writer put a bit more depth in to their ‘bad guy’.
