Viking Raids
I just saw the first trailer for the upcoming movie adaptation of Beowulf, and while it’s origin is Old English, I think most perceive it as more of a Norse/Viking epic. And since movies such as this often spur a surge in character creations based on their theme, I thought we could dig up some good references on the Vikings.
Topping the list if the previously mentioned Encyclopedia Mythica.
The Viking Network has a section devoted to the history and folklore of the Vikings.
The Viking Answer Lady - Christie Ward is a Finnish history buff interested in Iron Age Scandinavia and answers a variety of questions about the Vikings through her alter ego of Herskerinde (Mistress) Gunnora, and 8th century Finnlander. Her site has been online for well over a decade now.
